Subject: Elder Ramos, Wayne, Elder Ruttan & Sam (Week 65)
Another week! This was definitely another good one, Nottingham has been treating me well. I will give you some highlights as usual.
Tuesday I was able to go on exchange with Elder Ramos, who was in my district in Coventry, so has been a good mission friend for almost a year now. It was a blast, I loved spending the day with him talking to people and having a good time. He is from South Africa, which is pretty cool as well.
We were also able to meet a lot of new people that are very interested. one cool story is that we met a guy named Wayne, from Hong Kong. he used to play basketball with missionaries all the time in Hong Kong two years ago, and they gave him a Book of Mormon and taught him a bit. When we met him on the street he was so excited to see us and invited us over. It turns out he had kept the book this whole time even since coming to England, and he said he has many questions about it. it was very cool to teach him, I am excited to see what will happen with him.
I also went on an exchange with an Elder named Elder Ruttan, who has been out for about five months. That night I went to his ward activity, and the other missionaries in his ward have only been out for two and ten months. it was strange being so much older than them, I still feel like I am a new missionary. crazy how time goes by so fast.
Another highlight was teaching Sam, who we have been teaching for a few weeks now. he is a law student from China, and is so cool. He loves everything we teach him, and just loves everything about the church. He has possibly the most real intent out of anybody that I have taught so far. Whenever we teach him, it just feels right, and everything makes sense. It is amazing to see someone who has never had great faith in God turn around and just see absolute blessings from God. Teaching people like Sam makes every difficult thing about the mission so worth it.
Thank you all once again for all of your love and support. your prayers strengthen me each and every day. I am so grateful for the experiences that I am having, and my testimony of this restored gospel strengthens day by day. I love the gospel with all of my heart, I hope that you can all realize that as I try to convey it each week. Have a great week as always!
Love, Elder DeBeikes
