Subject: Biking Hills For Seven Hours – YIKES!

Hello there everyone! As always, this week is just a huge blur. I went on exhange with Elder Martin again, who has been out for about three months. i was in his area, which is about fifty times more hilly than our area, so biking around for about seven hours was extremely fun…we didnt have any teaching appointments, so we were literally just biking around all day, knocking on loads of doors and talking to everyone. nobody wanted to talk to us. it was quite a humbling experience, i’m not going to lie. I think we all need days like that every once in a while, it makes us appreciate the days that still aren’t so great, but we realize that it could always be worse. As for Elder Smith and me, we are still having a great time together, and i can’t believe it has already been six weeks since we started together. time is going by way too fast. Our main focus right now is a lady named Fran Watkins, who is such an amazing woman. She refers to herself as our welsh mum. she really wants to be baptized, but she has an illness that is preventing her from doing so. we have visited her quite often lately, and we have been able to help her so much. i love being able to help people in anyway possible. Elder Smith and i have been trying really hard to find new people to teach, but it has been very difficult lately for some reason, which is a little frustrating. We are faithful that if we continue to try, however, then we will be blessede with many people to teach. Another highlight was our coordination meeting with our ward mission leader. his name is Brother Phillips, but for whatever reason, the missionaries have been calling him Captain for the past few years, so that is what we call him. anyway, captain is such an amazing man. i don’t know if i have already said anything about him, but he is 73, and has such a strong desire to do missionary work. he is just an amazing man, and i love all the time that we get to spend with him. That is one of my favorite things about my mission, all of the people that i have been able to meet that have changed and helped me. i have met amazing people, seen amazing miracles, and have had the time of my life so far. i honestly love my misison, and i love this gospel so much. thank you for all that you do for me. have a great week!
